Subject: Neighbor Watch

Dan,

Not sure if the neighborhood watch is still in affect but I was speaking with Kevin Ellis this afternoon and he informed me there is a gang of perhaps up to 100 individuals scouting the area looking for easy targets. Houses where the garage doors are being left up. According to Kevin there have been 4 or 5 house up the street where this gang has driven by, then contact their buddies who show up and they clean house. One couple stopped to take a lunch break leaving the garage door up and tools laying around. They ate lunch and came out to find their tools and other items gone. Apparently this is a "Meth" related gang looking for things to steel and pawn off. That's how they caught several of the members as they attempted to sell their stolen wares.

Pass the word, keep your doors down, locked and loaded..

Regards, Jim

Boys Soccer Wins District!

Congratulations to the Boone County High School boys soccer team for winning the 33rd District tournament last night! This is an amazing team of young men -- six of them from PVM -- who have worked hard since July to put together a team that now stands at 15-3-3. The Rebels are headed to the Regional Tournament for the first time in years.

Regional play should start next week. Watch for details and come on out and support your Boone County High School Rebels!

One day last week, I saw a black pickup truck backed all the way to my garage door. My car was in the garage so the driver couldn't have known I was home--it was earlier than normal for our family. He took off when he saw me look out the window.

I suspect the guy was getting ready to try to find a way in (we have a remote keypad outside the garage door but he shouldn't have known the code so I don't know what he was planning. I just know that someone merely turning around in the driveway doesn't back all the up to the garage door) when he saw me looking out the window.
